Natural Birth Advocates for the Inland Northwest

Just wondering what people would think…..

So I am not sure how many of you have had natural births on this website but I have. I had both of my girls at Dayspring Midwifery in Hayden, Idaho. It was an amazing experience for both my husband and I. I just recently had my second daughter, Talia. She was born 8 weeks ago. A friend of mine had her baby there as well a week after me and this was her first natural birth. She had her 3 other boys at a hospital, all with an epidural. She thought her experience at Dayspring was amazing and both her and her husband wished they would have gone this route with the other 3 boys. So me and her were talking about why don’t more women know their options for birth? Why aren’t women being educated on natural birth and all of its amazing benefits for mom and baby? This is a very political community as far as natural birth is concerned. I believe that there are more women who would vouch for the all natural route but don’t have the support they need to follow through with their decision.

So my question for you all is this…..would having a non profit group in the Inland Northwest that promoted natural pregnancy and birth be something either you or someone you know would be interested in? I really would like your thoughts because I am wanting to know what the community thinks about this. If there is enough support there are a couple of my friends that will help me launch this idea.

Thanks for your feedback!

Stephanie
